mad_maz
Hi I have a tenant who up until now was a single occupant, but her partner is moving in with her next month. Do I HAVE to issue a new tenancy agreement in both names, or can I add an addendum, or something similar, to show both names? Any help appreciated Maz
wotsitallabout
I prefer to do a new agreement so that all paperwork is in one place. Unless you trust the exisiting tenant, get references for the new one, only of course if you agree to two people there. Alan
Richlist
Don't forget to consider ALL the other documents.......deposit protection, rent guaramtee insurance/ guarantor, inventory etc .
Grampa
The legal courses I have been on state a new contract should be drawn up for any extra tenants and any addendum would be seen as a new tenancy which could confuse things if you had to evict or serve s21. Keep it simple.
