An prime example on how not to deal with a deposit dispute

This is what happens if you dig your heels in and are not prepared to compromise.

This landlord and tenant ended up in the high court over cleaning, dog hairs, some scratches on a door.

Oh and a allegation of libel thrown in for good luck.

Yes interesting Grampa. Only goes to mention that this is what we all say on this forum is to always try to find a compromise and whenever you can avoid the legal route.

This must have cost a fortune to bring to Court.

I have one twice had had to take a small hit (cost) for something I shouldn't have to but to fight it and even win can cost more in time and effort.

A few years ago I had a complaint to the ombudsman (the only ever one) put in against me over a 100 quid fee. I was 100% sure there no fault at our end so dug my heels in and fought it and appealed. I must have spent hours going over the paperwork and statements and copying doc's only for the decision to go against us and I had to pay the £100 back to the person.

I take a more sensible approach now and make a commercial decision if it a few quid and weight it up against time and effort.
