Richlist
As from April 22nd there is a 60% increase in court fees for possession cases. It could see a sharp increase in possessions in the next 2 weeks to avoid the increase.
Grampa
I can see this increase reducing the the amount of eviction applications and maybe will encourage a few landlords to take matters into their own hands like the old days. With the current cost at least you could take punt at getting a eviction order if you had a questionable s21/S8 without suffering too much cost but now that is unlikely. Mortitia
Agree with all of the above. I want to see better and faster methods to deal with complaints about the rubbish service the courts provide. I am sooo fed up with turning up at court to find the judges have not seen or had all the paperwork I laboriously provided. Some of the fat, slow, inefficient civil servants (waiting for their fat pensions) should be dismissed from my local court office to improve productivity. When using some London courts I have had afro Caribbean (I can tell by the accent) staff just hang up when they don't want to look for paperwork or don't know the answer - and now they want to charge us more money!!!!
