Mattymanc
I have had some work done on the a property and have the invoices for all the jobs done. But I have noticed that none of the invoices have vat numbers on them. All they show is the companies name, the job done and the cost. Can I still use these invoices as tax deductibles when I am doing my self assessment?
Melboy
Yes you can. Not all companies/tradespersons are VAT registered. The important thing is you have a receipt to show your expendinture which HMRC would accept should the case ever arise where you would need to prove this expenditure. It would be down to to HMRC to check out these companies to see if they should be VAT registered.
