marionmckay
Hi there Fairly new to the buy to let. However, have now secured property no 4. So far been really lucky in that tenants have all been known to me through friend of a friend!. However, this new flat I will need to openly advertise. Therefore, can anyone advise the best way to go about referencing new tenant or any handy tips regarding this. What about a good referencing agency any recommendations? - especially im terms of value for money. Or is it possible to carry out a reference check yourself? look forward to any advice many thanks marionmc
mad_maz
Hi A useful website that I have come across is: http://www.rentchecks.com They offer various reports at very reasonable prices. Hope it helps. Marion
Trenners
Hi Marion, I always carry out the reference checks myself. I speak with the previous landlord, employer and character references. I always ask the tenant whether they have any CCJ against them and, if they even pause, I will also pay for a credit check as well. Good luck, Mark
