kim66
I've made an offer on a house in a good location for rental. The house is in decent shape for its age (1890) except that the extension on which the kitchen and bathrooom (on top) are built, subsided probably 100 years ago according to the survey. The result is that bathroom floor is a bit in a slope. Would that influence my choice of tenants if the property is in good order? Are there any regulations that would make it difficult to let it out? Thanks in advance for any advice on this!!
Melboy
Non whatsoever. The only time subsidence is a problem is when you are buying and selling. Be careful if you are buying and the Survey reveals subsidence because a lot of Insurance Co's will not rectify under any terms of the policy if you bought the property knowing it to have a subsidence problem.
