Is it possible/normal to ask for a small proportion of the deposit now? How do you limit the risk of the tennant changing their mind in a months time? Melboy Posted June 30, 2006 Report Share Posted June 30, 2006 Yes a holding bond refundable on taking up the Tenancy is quite normal. If you don't, then as you say, the Tenant could change their mind and your left holding the baby. If they don't agree to this then carry on marketing the property or possibly lose out.
