SPEEDTWIN
HI I`M FAIRLY NEW TO LETTING AND MY TENANT WHO WAS 3 MONTHS BEHIND WITH RENT HAS NOW GONE LEFT THE KEY WITH NEXT DOOR AFTER BEEN GIVEN A SECTION 21. MY QUESTION IS CAN I JUST DUMP WHAT HAS BEEN LEFT BEHIND. THE FLAT IS EMPTY EXCEPT ONE BED, TATY SOFA AND WHAT I GUESS A BROKEN TV IN A CUBBOARD. ALSO THE GARAGE IS FILLED WITH JUNK INCLUDING A GUTTED CAR (NO WHEELS ON BLOCKS). ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO RENT THE GARAGE SEPERATELY AND NOT TO GO WITH THE FLAT DOES THAT CAUSE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS? (IT IS NOT ATTACTED TO THE FLAT) MANY THANKS
Melboy
Yes, it can be legally disposed of after 28 days. Take photo's if necessary for proof and if you have a contact address send a letter informing the person of your intentions but in this case I reckon you could dump the lot tomorrow as you are very unlikely ever to have contact ever again!
