burremr
Had pretty much decided on which agent I was going use to fully manage our buy to let when upon picking up the keys from the selling agent (lettings franchise also) gave me their sales pitch. Both agents are strong in the area/type of property and target tenant I need but the later isn't VAT registered and wouldn't therefore charge me VAT. Are there any further issues I should be aware of re the 'no vat' option?
Mortitia
Sounds like the 'no VAT' agent maybe new to the business - ask or maybe just does not have that much business. I recall you need to have a turnover of over £7,500 per month before the need to register for VAT. This would not affect my choice of agent. Grampa
It only shows they are a small agent but they could be close to the vat limit and next year you may find it is added to the fees. A lot of small agents dont have the legal training so you could ask what quafications they have or what courses they have been on. If they are a Ltd Co check on http://companycheck.co.uk/ to see how long they have been trading.
