burremr
Hi, Im exchanging on property in the next few days and wanted some advice on Public & employers liability insurance. The guides I have read say policies should include both. The specialist landlord policy Im looking at doesnt include employers liability. My understanding was even I pay my friend/relative to to a minor job on on the property they become an employee of mine in law! The broker I spoke to tried to tell me this wasnt the case as the if for example Im getting the boiler checked (Gas safe registered) the tradesman will have their own employers liability. Is the distinction here between tradesmen, someone on my payroll or a freind doing cash in hand job painting job? Appreciate any comments as I dont want to pay more for insurance than necessary but equally be exposed to risk.
Richlist
There is the odd insurance expert that posts on here occasionaallly but there's no guarantee they are around. In the meantime why not phone a few other insurance brokers for the answer ?.......they may have policies covering the specific 'risks' you are looking for.
