linal
Hi I let out some unfurnished flats the flats had carpets which now need renewing (in some areas) as it is an unfurnished let who is reponsible to relace them ?. Thanks A.
Chestnut
As the carpets don't belong to the tenants you can't expect them to pay for replacement. Normal wear and tear is part of what they pay you rent for. If the carpets are at end of life have you thought of simply removing them? Is the floor surface acceptable? The tenants always have the option of providing their own rugs.
Melboy
I think it is fair to say that floor coverings are not the responsibilty of the Tenant but that of the Landlord. If damage is caused to the carpets by the Tenent then of course that is a different question altogether. Mel.
ankitadas
Ya Chestnut is right. Tenants are not responsible for carpet. If there something happened or damage to any part of your house then only you can claim to tenants. Its fully your responsibility. cbosleeds
Always worth both tennants and landlords taking detailed photos of the property at the start of the let to avoid any disputes. Inventories should also be taken by both parties which note the condition of what's there.
