russ295 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Share Posted January 9, 2008 hi i have a building that consists of 3 small commercial shops and a maisonette above, they are all on one title, i need to split them so i can raise a mortgage on the maisonette, i have had the drawings done and have had a quote from the solicitors for £1500 + vat. has anybody had anything like this done before, as i wasnt expecting to pay this much. russ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Why cant you just borrow against the asset as a "whole" ...guessing you want the domestic element to avoid commercial lending rates?.....Just grant a 99 yr lease to your missus and borrow against that ?.....!
