SPEEDTWIN Posted May 22, 2007 Report Share Posted May 22, 2007 Has anyone had a tenant who has later been locked up and what have they done about getting the property back. This is a new one for me i have a HB tenant with rent being paid in full by the council directly to me and who is now in prison (goes to court in about a month) have been told by the police he wont be coming out before the court date and it is very likely he will be getting a fairly long sentence. Melboy Posted May 23, 2007 Report Share Posted May 23, 2007 You'll probably find that the Council will have to continue paying his rent otherwise it would be against his Human Rights whilst he is in prison to remove his main rented residence.......or some other ridiculous reason.
