kanrent Posted August 5, 2016 Report Share Posted August 5, 2016 hi after 5 years i have decided to increase my tenants rent by 6.5% gave him the 2 month notice only to find that he has ignored the increase and still paying the original rent, i have spoken to him and he is refusing to pay the increase . what can i do as he is not 2 months behind with the rent Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Richlist Posted August 5, 2016 Report Share Posted August 5, 2016 Talk to the tenant first and explain ..... * the reason for the increase, * remind him there have been no increases for 5 years, * explain how 6.5% increase is quite small and is just 1.3% per year. * let him know the consequences ie he will loose the property if the increas is not paid.
