kerbut
I have just had the newsletter arrive from our local Landlord Authority Partnership, interesting article and I quote : Recent case law on tenancy deposits sent the industry into a spin prompting new legislation aimed at residential landlords in 2015. Judges opinion meant that if an initial tenancy ran on to become a periodic one ,the deposit would need to be re-registered with a protection scheme. The Deregulation Bill, set for its third reading at the House of Lords on the 4th March 2015 ,will establish that a deposit will only need to be registered once at the begining of the tenancy. Mortitia
This is so Kerbut. I don't re-register but re-issue PI on the tenancy becoming periodic and get a receipt for it from the tenants. This is accepted as being good practice as far as I am aware.
