lanaby
Does anyone know the legalities of starting a 'blacklist' database of problem tenants? I'm not thinking of an avenue for unsubstantiated slander but wondered whether it would be defensible for private landlords to add the names of tenants who have been taken to court (after which I assume their details are in the public domain) and the reasons for their eviction for future landlords to cross check prior to renting to them? thanks. F-Prop
I thought it was illegal but then someone told me of a website that does just that... sorry but I can't remember which one. I'm not sure how they police it though, you could put anyone's name on there! I would have a few names for the list though! Trevor.
Eastern Landlords
Have you thought of joining a landlods association - many of them have lists of tenants and usually these comply with data protection. This requires the tenant to sign an application form and landlords need to capture unique identifying info such as d.o.b. and NI numbers.
