gibson little
We have recently had to use the services of a baliff to evict a problem tenant. On the day the Baliff attended the property the tenant was not at the property and the baliff insisted we changed all locks before he would leave. The tenant had left a number of possessions in the property and the Baliff told us that if they were unclaimed after 2 weeks we could dispose of them. Is this correct? none of the goods have any real monetary value. We have tried to contact him by phone and we have no forwarding address- not surprising as he owes us several thousand pounds and is wanted by the police. After almost 3 months is it safe to just get rid of this stuff?

tony_ mort
If you really want to cover yourself, then make a list of the belongings and get an independent person to countersign the list, then sell what you can and bin the rest. That way if he returns in a few years claiming that he left Grannie's jewellery behind you can tell him where to get off.
