tony009
Hi, hope anyone can help. Do banks charge a fee if they give a reference for a tenant? who pays the fee (landlord or tenant?). I know banks will differ but what is usually the norm? Many thanks for any information whatsoever.
royals7
The Halifax and BOS charge £12 for a bank reference. We get our tenants to pay for a Tenant Verify check of £33 but we pay for the bank reference.
royals7
Further to my above response we got a reference back with Halifax and a £12 cheque saying they don't charge for this service, something the enquiry helpdesk didn't know about.
