7777777 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Share Posted September 11, 2009 wondering weather its worth renting to the council,, my question is say you have an ex council proberty and on the row half are privet and half council owned,, if i were to join the accredited land lord scheme run by the council wouuld i have to keep my rent the same as there's??,,,, say i ask for £100 pw but next door is council owned and there rent is £70 pw how dose it work Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Chestnut Posted September 11, 2009 Report Share Posted September 11, 2009 Why not ask your council about a Rent Express type scheme? The council will select and send you a prospective tenant but will allow you to retain control, set the rent and make the final choice of tenant on your own terms. The council will check suitability of property, whether your rent is reasonable, and pay you tenant's initial rent and deposit. I have recently embarked on this scheme and so far so good.
