house doctor Posted January 6, 2009 Report Share Posted January 6, 2009 Hi all, Can anybody help, On the 1st of November 2008 i had a tennant move into my house and rented out one of our bedrooms , I made a contract with him, we agreed £ 50.00 per week. and £ 20.00 for food as he was a friend of our neighbours, The Council sent him a letter that they are going to pay him £ 58.84 to us per week he had aggreed to pay ehat the Council had put on the letter, so what i want to do is make a addjustment to the contract to make it legal please can anyone tell me what form do i need to download. vinvin Posted January 7, 2009 Report Share Posted January 7, 2009 You need a licence, not an AST, as you are residential Landlord. Look either on this site for one or go to Landlordzone.co.uk. I think they have one there, you will probably have to register tho to gain access. Whilst some may say you need nothing, i.e no form of contract, as you dont know him, make sure you are legal tight to get rid of him if you want. Different rules apply if you are living at the house.
