Fenella
Hi, I am about to rent out a room in my flat where I will still be living. Is it in my benefit to get a lodger's contract agreement? Or can I write up something myself stating rent agreed, period of notice etc? Or is an agreement needed at all? Also for tax income reasons should I state rent and bills separately on agreement as together they are more than the tax free amount of £4250 under the rent a room scheme? I have given my tenant an amount of £450 bills included but could split out if necessary on agreement. Thanks for your help.
