00IVE Posted June 8, 2008 Report Share Posted June 8, 2008 hi guys ,am quite new to the buy to let game but have not even got out the blocks before i have hit a snag.i have agreed a price on a flat and the sale is going through but my solicitor could not read the copy of the lease that the vendors sent.we requested another copy and they are trying to get one from the council who are the owners.we have been waiting for nearly 6 weeks now.any ideas on how to speed this up.help ive Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BTLWhizz Posted June 16, 2008 Report Share Posted June 16, 2008 How about this. Write up a new version of the contract, which is much, much, more favourable to yourself than the original. Send this copy to the vendors saying that this is your best possible transcription of the contract. Ask them to tell you of any mistakes in your transcription, but that otherwise if you don't hear from them in 7 days, you will assume that the transcription is correct, and that this forms the agreement between you and the vendors.
