corkie Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Hello again!! Need some advice on our property which is let unfurnished and has been left unoccupied by our current tenant as they have moved to pastures new. He has not informed us that he has left, and I am obviously concerned that in these freezing weather conditions, how safe is the property? ie has he left any heat on? Also the insurance aspect. I am not insured if the property is unoccupied without suitable living furniture left insitu. The contract only states that he should not leave the property for more than 30 days and he should take reasonable precautions in the event of his absence. Any help and advice greatly appreciated.
GPEL Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 I am not insured if the property is unoccupied without suitable living furniture left insitu. Sounds a bit odd, are you sure? Wasn't it unfurnished before you found your last tenant, invalidating it for that period of time as well. How sure are you that they have left? If very, then go in and turn thermo to low heat setting.
Simon Dewsberry Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 If T non contactable then i would deem the possibility of "dead body in premises" as an emergency and enter to ascertain facts ...while you are there nudge the heating on ! S
