stephanie
My tenant has given notice, so I am able to get rid of Your Move, who have been nothing but hassle. I thought I would reduce my stress levels by using an agent. How wrong can you be? Anyway, advice needed urgently please: What's the best way of advertising for a tenant? What a about a contract? What do I do about the deposit? Grateful thanks, Scoobie
Grosvenor
I sacked my agent in 1993 and have never looked back. Advertise in local paper or perhaps card in newsagents. Printed flourescent Flat to Let signs in window. Contracts can be searched for via google. Could consider contacting NFRL; see their website. Deposit; scroll through recent threads, all sorts of advise there. Good luck Paul
stephanie
What's the protocol for showing prospective tenants round when the old tenant is still living in the property?
Grosvenor
Well, I always try to be as quick as I can so as not to bother the outgoing tenant too much. Certainly if I have several veiwings. ...and dont discuss £ in front of anyone in property. Do all that after the view as you may have decided this is a good time to increase the rent. I assume you are new to this, so good luck Paul
