Richards
I am the executor of an estate which includes a property with a protected tenant. The estate has no funds to continue, is loss making and will have to be sold off. The only prospective purchasers are developers, who require vacant possession. I cannot see that I am able to get vacant possession under the discretionary and mandatory grounds. I seem to be stuck, as I need to sell in order to pays the estates creditors, but I cannot sell the property. Have considered approaching the tenant and explaining the situation, but am wary of being taken for a lot of money. Any help/experience much appreciated. odecar
Consider an auction as then you should sell it reasonably quickly. Go for the big nationals rather than the local auctions as get more interest.
Richards
Thanks for that. The property is actually one of several on a 30 acre farm, do you think that the auction firms would deal with this?
odecar
Don't see why not. Would probably give Barnard Marcus or Allsops a call and get them to do the valuation and see their estimates on fees. All it costs is a phone call as they all want business. Simon Dewsberry
Offer cash for them to leave or least explore this avenue with the tenant.
