alison perry
Hello, Hope someone can advise - I am in the process of purchasing my first buy to let property. There is an arrangement fee on the mortgage, and I am unsure whether to add it to the mortgage, or pay it up front. Would it be tax deductable if I paid it separately and didn't add it to the mortgage. many thanks
plym77
Hi Alig It would be tax deductible whether it was added to the BTL mortgage or whether you paid it from personal funds - makes no difference Regards Sherena
GPEL
Another thing to consider is the cost of the arrangement fee repaid over the term of the mortgage compared to paying it off now. (not forgetting to factor in the net present value ie the future equivalent value of a pound compared to today's value:-))
