  1. Camden have now asked if I am prepared to accept a cash settlement, no obligation to accept it seems. Can anyone offer some advice please?
  2. Hello all, thank for your help so far. There is a meeting with Camden (the freeholders)for the lessees, only one at a time. I am going but do not want to antagonise them. Problem is the fire was last November and it appears nothing has been done the building is still uninhabitable. I am insured for loss of rent for only a little while longer. What questions need i ask? Yes I seem desparate. Regards
  3. I have not come back to you as lots of worry here. My tenant has now found a flat and is not homeless, thank goodness. Now the insurance ritual dance starts and I am wondering how long this will go on for. Thanks everyone
  4. I hope you go the last post about the fire, computer trouble
  5. Hello Sorry I have not replied, you may have read about the fire in Hampstead where someone died. My tenant got out with no possessions and homeless but alive and I have therefore been rather stressed and busy. It seems that the charges are now history and I have to research other matters to see that all is done properly. Thank goodness my tenant found somewhere.

  8. Thank you everybody. A representative from Camden told me that they have an obligation to rehouse their tenants only. not the tenants of their lessees, so although I have not looked up Grampa's links yet, I will do. They did put her in a hotel for a few days and I am wondering if this implies anything.
  9. I am the owner of one of the flats in the Hampstead fire on the news this week. The house is emptied, burnt and no one is allowed in. Sadly one person died, not my tenant. Camden Council who are the freeholders have put our tenant in a hotel till Sunday. They say that they are not obliged to let her have any accommodation after that. I am concerned for her. Is this correct and I would also be grateful for any advice you may have for steps that I should take generally as this has never happened to me before and I have no accommodation for my tenant.
  10. Thank you Richlist, you have given me the idea to approach one of the organisations, very grateful.
  11. I have a flat in a big house with Camden Freeholders, rented out. As well as paying service charges, fair enough, I have been charged by Camden just under £10,000 which is my contribution to major external works carried around 2015. I am paying this off in monthly instalments of approximately £350.00 per month. Now I understand that further works, this time to the inside are planned and that I will get another big bill. Two other leaseholders have said that they have not been billed for the external works and when I took this up with Camden, they said that they are not permitted to
  12. Good morning everyone. May I please say that I feel very uncomfortable about the replies I have had. I use various forums, music, do it yourself projects and others and I am always grateful that people help others out of the goodness of their hearts. However, In this case, feel that I may have offended some and if this is so , than I apologise.
  13. Yes Melboy, you are absolutely right, thank you Best regards.
  14. Oh dear Richlist, I have no more information that is of use, sorry to have troubled you. Regards
