cathw
I am renting out two rooms in my house and occupying a third, the kitchen, bathroom and garden being shared. I have recently started a relationship and am spending more and more time at my boyfriend's house. I keep most of my belongings at my house, I call in every day and my mail is still sent there, but I'm spending most nights with my boyfriend. Does anyone know if I still be considered a live-in landlord if I don't sleep there at all? And can I therefore treat the house as my main residence under the Rent-a-Room scheme? Simon Dewsberry
Quite agree ....you are bound to have at least one agruement a month where you go home for the night ....so you will be "living there" for some time to come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plym77
You are still living there for Rent a Room at the moment. At the end of the day I expect that your mortgage, biuldings insurance, council tax etc etc are all still paid by you as the occupier too - further proof.
