Richlist
I'd have thought that your tax expert would be able to answer your questions. I can confirm that transferring property into a Discretionary Trust does not incur CGT or IHT. Most of the firms offering to arrange these trusts offer free advice. The firm I used was St James's Place Wealth Management. Their contact details are readily available online and I'm sure they would be happy to arrange an appointment to discuss your options. Richlist
My trust was set up over 10 years ago. On checking, the cost was around £3000+ then.......I have no idea on current fees. Fees are infinitely variable.....it depends on how many properties are involved, how many beneficiaries, leasehold or freehold etc etc. Everyone's personal circumstances are different. * Set up a meeting * Explain your personal circumstances * Ask what your options are * Learn how the trust is set up and operates ( lots of info is available online). * Make a decision Good luck
