superdry
I am going to be letting my rental agent go. Do I need to get some kind of rent book? The tennant will be paying monthly. If I do need a rent book, who keeps the it, and what evidence of payment should I keep? Thank you
Melboy
Presumably you have some form of Tenancy / Landlord contract in place? Rent books are not Mandatory.....as long as the rent is paid to you from, say, the Tenants Bank Account to your Bank Account then that is record and evidence enough for both parties. superdry
The tennant wants to pay cash on a monthly basis. Will a rent book for her records be normal and a reciept book form mine be ok? Yes- a formal tenancy agreement will be signed at the beginning of her next 6 months.
Melboy
Yes, perfectly satisfactory..........documented evidence of rental payments by both parties should any dispute arise.
