You need to find out who is responsible for the wall - most probably shown on the deeds of the property (downloadable for £4 from the land registry Mon-Sat).

Normally, that person is who bears the cost of replacement, but you have agreed differently - that may be good or bad ;)

If that persons wall has damaged someone elses property, then yes they are liable.

Ahh... Thats new! So I might bot be responsible for it? I will have a look.

On the other hand, you might be responsible for ALL of it ......plus the damage to your neighbours patio slabs. :P

Funnily enough the council called me a week back about one of the properties that is next to mine. Same situation. They wanna do 50/50 too! I will have to check.
