bil8999
Hi Just started my first legal eviction in 33 years of being a landlord, tenant has asked the courts for an additional 42 days to leave the property, this has been presented to the judge, what are the chances of him allowing this?. She has had several chances and stays of eviction, but I can see that it is close to Christmas and finding somewhere may be difficult. Thoughts please. Melboy
50/50 I would say. Is she paying the rent still? Do your grounds for eviction convince the judge that she has to go and that the 42 days requested would be an unsatisfactory arrangement bearing in mind she has had previous stays of eviction? Grampa
What reason is your tenant giving for requesting more time? A lot of the time the reason given is they have no where to go which isnt a valid reason and if so you have to question the judge over it. I have some info to do this if you want it.
