Richlist Posted November 22, 2017 Report Share Posted November 22, 2017 Seems the announcement that first time homebuyers will not have to pay SDLT is likely to result in a rise in property prices, at least at the lower end. Basic law of economics......obviously one the Gov't know nothing about .....is that you can't artificially increase demand if you don't also increase supply without the action resulting in a price rise. Melboy Posted November 23, 2017 Report Share Posted November 23, 2017 I have to say that I also thought that the SDLT for 1st time buyer's will push up the prices of the lower end of property sales. In fact around my location the lower end property sales are very bouyant at the moment. Lot of people /investor's buying property here who are out of the area.
