metalhead
Hi, I am a student renting a room in a house. When I signed my contract the house was in good condition, now when it came to moving in the landlord decided to build a second floor. Areas of the house, are missing a roof, and there is no ceeling in the kitchen, aswell a toilet was taken out leaving the house with only one main bathroom. Could you please tell me if I do have to accept these conditions or pay full rent. The landlords said that if I wont pay the full amount every month, the residential landlord will give me a 2 week notice, telling me to move out. Would there be any chance for them to win a court order? I mean the living conditions are absolutely not acceptable. thanks
Melboy
Dan.......Your Landlord is probably in breach of contract. He is not allowed to undertake major repairs and building work without your consent. Check your own contract.
